Destruction
Setting: Foster and Sarah Bosanquet at her apartment. He admires her telescope.
Foster: Unusual hobby.
Sarah: Is it?
Foster: Are you an expert?
Sarah: I wouldn't say so.
Foster: What's the bright star top left?
Sarah: Spica. Magnitude 1.2. Forms an isoceles triangle with Arcturus in Bootes and Denebola in Leo.
Foster: Really?
Sarah: By studying Spica and the star Rigel in Orion, Hipparchus discovered the procession of the equinoxes.
Foster: Well, here's to good old Hipparchus. [leans in to kiss her]
Sarah: [backs up] You don't waste time, do you?
Foster: Well, you've got your hobby.

Setting: Col. Foster enters Straker's HQ office.
Foster: You wanted to see me?
Straker: Oh, yes, Paul. Come in. How are you making out with Miss Bosanquet?
Foster: Well, Rome wasn't built in a day.
Straker: Yes. I have heard that before. Listen, there's something I want you to do for me.
Foster: Sure.
Straker: Find out if your new friend knows him. [points to photo on wall screen]
Foster: Oh, yes. She does. There's a picture like this in her apartment.
Straker: Are you sure?
Foster: Positive.
Straker: Well, that's very interesting.
Foster: Who is he?
Straker: Are you taking Miss Bosanquet out tonight?
Foster: Well, I, uh . . .
Straker: Good. Make it something special, will you?
Foster: I'll try. [heads toward door]
Straker: Oh, and Paul. You might let me have the key to her apartment.
[Foster looks surprised, then grins sheepishly and tosses Straker the key off his keyring. Straker catches it one-handed.]

Setting: Straker, Gen. Henderson, and Admiral Sheringham await developments in the SHADO Control Room after the interceptor pilot reports seeing a UFO that doesn't appear on their radar.
Foster: You were right. They have found a way through our defensive screens.
Straker: Some kind of radio jamming, I expect, using waves to break up the frequency.
Foster: Can our technicians fix it?
Straker: Well, it depends on whether we're still here tomorrow, doesn't it?
