Inter-Viewsby Denise Felt 2010
Sometimes an idea gets stuck in your head and won't leave you alone. And no matter how impractical it is, sooner or later you have to give it a chance to develop. That's how this series of interviews was born. As a writer, I'd always wanted the chance to meet my main character. After all, even though he wasn't originally mine, over the years of thinking about him and eventually writing about him, he became a very real person to me. And I wanted to pick his brain. See his side of things. I suppose a psychologist would have a field day with these interviews, but it really did start out as one interview. Just one. The View from the Cliff What is a writer to do when her main character wants to meet and discuss his place in her stories? The View from the Beach And should she ever agree to meet with him a second time? The View from the Meadow How does a writer manage to outfox the foxiest man of all? The View from the Lake Doesn't a time eventually come when all pretenses are over? The View from the Stream Our choices decide our fate. What will she choose? |
